Baby First Aid Courses

Suitable for Parents, Expectant Parents, Grandparents, Siblings and Babysitters.

Unfortunately he most likely place for accidents or illness to occur is sadly in the home. The knowledge you  gain from this course can make a significant difference when facing a life threatening emergency. It really could be the difference between life and death. Baby Safe

Who should subscribe to this course?

I believe everyone should have knowledge of how to save a life, from parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters to friends and relatives .....you never know when this knowledge may come in useful. 

What does this course cover?

This course covers first aid techniques for babies under one year of age and children up to the age of eight. It is designed for parents and carers of babies and children such as grandparents and baby sitters. Babies in arms are welcome to attend with their parents up to the age of eight months.  The following: topics will be covered:
 

  • Unresponsive baby and child breathing

  • Unresponsive baby and child not breathing

  • Choking - baby and child

  • Bleeding

  • Burns

  • Raised temperatures

  • Meningitis

  • Head Injuries

 

This course is two hours long and will give you the confidence and skills to act quickly and effectively in the unfortunate event of an emergency in your home.

 

Courses run monthly  in Birmingham, Harborne, Solihull & Sutton Coldfield at weekends. 

Emergency Paediatric First Aid Courses

 

Suitable for Nursery Nurses, Nannies, Childminders, Teachers and anyone else working with children.

The national standards for first aid in childcare settings state that ‘at least one person who has a current paediatric first-aid certificate must be on the premises at all times when children are present’.

 

Additionally, at least one person with a current paediatric first-aid certificate must accompany every outing.

 

The Practice Guidance in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets out the first-aid training requirements for Ofsted-regulated child-care settings.

 

This guidance includes details of the course content and the duration of the training. Child Carers from Schools, Nurseries, Childminders, Nannies, Au Pairs, Teachers and other parents and childcare professionals wishing to gain the skills and confidence to provide immediate medical care in an emergency should all attend this course.

 

You will be awarded your Paediatric First Aid Certificate on completion of the course, this certificate is valid for 3 years.

 

The course covers the full Paediatric First Aid Ofsted syllabus, satisfying the requirements of the Ofsted Childcare register and the DfES Approved Carers Scheme.

 

This course can be used as evidence for employees working towards the NVQ in Childcare and Education.
