I started my Nurse training in 1985 at Nottingham City Hospital and qualified as a Staff Nurse in 1988. I then qualifield as a Midwife in 1990 after training at Birmingham Women's Hospital. Since then I have worked both in the Community, as well as at many of the local hospitals including Sorrento, Solihull, Burton on Trent and Heartlands where I was a Labour Ward Manager for many years. I also worked in the Caribbean as a Midwife for five years. Following this I worked at the Perinatal Institute as a Project Midwife. I am currently working as a Community Midwife from Good Hope Hospital providing care to pregnant, labouring and postnatal moms and their babies at home as well as conducting  home births.I was a Registered Nurse for 30 years, and am a Registered Midwife with 34  years experience. I am an Ofsted approved Paediatric First Aid Trainer.

 

I am committed to offering professionally run and up to date First Aid courses that will give you confidence to act quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency situation involving your baby or child. should the unthinkable happen. I will also address  your individual concerns and worries throughout the course.

I have extensive experience in resuscitating babies at birth and was an Advanced Resuscitator of the Newborn on the Labour Ward at Heartlands Hospital for many years. Your baby and, or child's safety is my main concern and I would like to teach you the knowledge and skills you will need should an emergency situation occur in your home.
